Flower stems

DSCF0385.jpg

I like the look of this image and the way the stems spread out from a central point. A weed would you believe it! It caught my eye whilst out on a walk in Huddersfield.

Mount Snowdon!

DSCF0099.jpg

On Tuesday I walked up Mount Snowdon in North Wales. This was a shot I took on the way up. Unfortunatly once we got near the summit, low clouds blocked our view! The walk was nice, if not challenging in places!

Cloud shadows

DSCF0044.jpg

I took this shot earlier this week near Kirk Pass in the Lake District. I like the shadow formations spread across the hill sides formed by the passing clouds.

Sunrise

DSCF0038.jpg

This picture was taken near Penrith just inside the Lake District. It was early on a winter’s morning and the sun was low in the sky. I shot through the grass directly at the sun. There were interesting angles present within the shot. The grass strands shoot up vertically whilst the plane trails cross through the sky almost horizontally.

Bonny Scotland

DSCF0061.jpg

This shot was taken on my tour of Scotland around the Glencoe area. This is truly a nature photographer’s paradise as far as breath-taking scenery goes. The hilltops were dusted with snow and the base was coated in sunlight. The loch edge and clouds also add a little somthing to the picture.

After the downpour!

DSCF0308.jpg

This image is of an Iris flower head just after a heavy downpour. The deep orange works well against the greens of the backdrop.

Beach hedge

DSCF0031.jpg

This image shows the sun light straining to break through a dense beach hedge. On its way through it highlights the reddish brown colours of the leaves

Pond surface

okj.jpg

I like the mood in this picture. The image is taken below some reeds just above the surface of a local pond. The slight angle and reflection work well together and the tonal values are strikingly contrasting.

Creative leak!

DSCF0133.jpg

This interesting image needs some explanation! It’s actually a picture of the floor behind a bar. There had been a water leak, from which the lights where reflecting on its surface. The colours bring the water to life and leave an intriguing if not creative looking image!

Sunset sand

Sun-&-sand-ripples.jpg

This image was taken whilst walking along the River Ribble at Freckleton, near Preston. The tide was out; revealing the rippling sands and the sun was just setting. I like the slight curvature going from left to right and the openness of the sand.
