Halloween Horror!

DSCF0078.jpg

Ok maybe the title is a little over the top! But I thought id get into the spirit of things and show this eerie looking picture for Halloween. The image was taken during my holiday a couple of years ago in Scotland. This tree grows inside the walls of Stirling Castle. The weeping, bear branches, steep stonewalls and even the crows sat in the tree add for a scary looking image! I’ve also produced it in black and white for added effect!

Cute cat!

DSCF0001.jpg

Thought id chuck this image in! Not one of my normal shots, but a picture of my pet cat Poppy, happily dreaming away whilst leaning against the ‘little bear family’ ornament! Certainly a moment to capture on camera!

Red sky in the morning…is the shephards warning!

gh.jpg

As the old saying goes! This is a picture of a sunrise taken 2 days ago out of my window. The sky was a deep red, in the foreground you can also see the red lights used on the runway.

Its raining now by the way!

Amazing imprint!

dove-imprint.jpg

hy.jpg

These two pictures show the incredible imprint of a dove that flew into the window of the local pub! I may just start by saying the dove picked itself up and flew away seemingly unharmed! The dove has flown into the window, and the dust has left its features in incredible detail. Both wings can clearly be seen, the eyes and beak, even the detail of the feathers! I took one photo in the day and another at night using the flash in the hope of picking it up better, and it seem to work!

Similar Photography

my-garden-in-snow.jpg

DSCF0037.jpg

I received an email this week from a fellow photographer from Poland who remarked about the similarities between our photographs. With kind permission they have allowed me to show their photograph (top picture/Poland) and I have shown mine (bottom/Huddersfield, UK) to compare them. Apart from the thickness of snow, the pictures are strikingly similar in more ways than one! One must wonder if this is quite a frequent occurrence but never noticed, especially with images taken so far apart.

Special thanks to Iwona for the email and photograph.

Nature photographer’s paradise!

DSCF0043.jpg

DSCF0056.jpg

These are a couple of images I took in the summer whilst on a walk around Ingelton Falls. The weather was lovely, and as you can see from the bottom picture, so was the scenery! I love to walk around these kind of walks and look for what surprises nature throws up. Some of the most interesting shots can be found in some of the most unimaginable places.

Strange sky!

ucv.jpg

I know I posted an image of a rainbow not so long ago, but I took this picture just a few days ago out of my window. The light has somehow created a strange formation through the clouds that some how seems effected by the rainbow! Very intriguing!
