Sand shapes

DSCF0046.jpg

DSCF0024.jpg

These two images were taken down at the River Ribble near Preston. The tide was out and the water was retreating back to the sea. Mini water streams were being created running over the sands and making creative shapes, textures and colours. At the very least…I think there interesting!

Aviemore

Todays images come from my holiday up in Aviemore, Scotland. I spent a week here last year in October. The colours of the trees were breath-taking. Browns, yellows, golds, purples and browns all creating a sea of colour.

After the rain

DSCF0340.jpg

DSCF0318.jpg

Sorry it has been a while since my last post, due to some technical problems! Its good to be back! The two images today are of water droplets on some leaves after a heavy downpour. Some leaves have waterproof surfaces and create the most amazing water patterns.

As we are fast approaching December I hope to use the month of December to show some wintry shots including images of ice and snow. I will also try to throw in some festive imagery as we draw closer to Christmas!

Breaking sunlight

clouds2.jpg

This is quite a powerful shot showing the strong sunrays bursting out from behind the big cloud. What makes it all the more interesting is the size and darkness of the cloud itself. I took this image a couple of years ago outside my house, unfortunately I didn’t have such a keen eye back then and hadn’t realized the gaping phone wire that cuts nicely across the image!! But we live and learn as they say!

Bonfire 2005!

mbv.jpg

DSCF0069.jpg

Here are a couple of pictures from this years Bonfire. I went to a an organized bonfire near Blackburn. The fireworks were spectacular and there was a really good atmosphere, despite the weather! The first shot was taken showing the view directly above the bonfire, to show the orange glow fading into the darkness. I especially like the second image, which has this same effect but with a firework exploding in the corner.

Bonfire night special!

vc.jpg

,ghjc.jpg

Its that time of the year again! Big roaring bonfires, screaming fireworks and sparkling sparklers!! The 5th of November is actually a great time to get some cool looking shots. These are a couple I took last year. The orange of the fire is extremely striking against the backdrop of the night sky. The flames give out some amazing textures. So get your cameras out on Saturday night and see what you can come up with!
