I took this image a few days ago whilst walking along the rivers edge. The reflection caught my eye, however it wasnt until I got home and looked the the picture properly that I noticed that there was also a plane trail that had been caught on the waters surface, giving the image a strong, abstract focal point. I also like how the water fades to a dark colour at the bottom of the picture.

I took this image as an experiment. I wanted to take a subject that seemed relatively uninteresting and uninspiring and try and make it interesting by how the shot was composed. The subject was simply a drip leaking out of a gutter as the morning’s thaw set in after the nights frost. I tried the get the most creative angle for maximum effect. The lines in the background are actually created by scaffolding, but give the image that little something extra to catch the eye.

I took this image on the same day as the image below in a similar style. It is a simple image with the dominent sun on the left and the slim plane trail coming in from the right. What makes it strong for me is the direction of the plane, as if it is heading into the centre of the sunlight. I also like the blue background and its gradient along the image.

I shot this image whilst driving in the lakes. I noticed the ice hanging by the side of the road, pulled my car up and took the chance to shoot them. Photography is about taking the opportunity whilst its there! The way the ice has formed is interesting, the water frozen as it dripped out of the moss.
