White Flower

A flower shot with a strong contrast in colours. The white flower is maximised by the black background. The rain droplets add to the image as well as the hint of fresh green towards the bottom right and top middle of the photograph.

Sun through mist

This shot has a certain atmosphere to it, the Sun fighting to break through the thick mist. This created strange lighting conditions which I felt was interesting to capture.

Tenerife

As we fast enter into the dark cold winter months I had a look back at my holiday in Tenerife as a reminder of warmer days! I found this image, a dark silhouette of the land against a light sky.

Vulture

Taken at the same place, I manage to get close to this intriguing bird. I like the gaze of the bird, looking up with an intense stare.

Eagle

This Bald Eagle was in a wildlife centre but I have tried to compose the shot as if it was a natural image in the wild. The wispy green leaves help to achieve this in the foreground. The eagle is a striking bird, wonderfully sharp eyes, deep yellow beak and beautiful plumage.

Kittens

These are my parents kittnes! I caught them as they were playing around, I like how their heads are opposite to each other in the photograph. The black one is called Rosey and the Black & White one is called Milly! And yes! they are as adorbale as they look!

Barn Owls

I took this image in the summer down at the local Farm. A few years back they placed a nesting box in one of the out barns, which a Barn Owl has made its nest in over the last few years. I was fortunate enough one night to capture the mother and her three young in the Barn not long after they had flown the nest. A wonderful site!

Pheasant

I spotted this stunning cock Pheasant earlier in the year, sneaking through the grass near to where I live. The Pheasant is in all its beauty as it geared up to find a hen partner! The sun is shining on its proud feathers as it watches me cautiously!

Fireworks on Bonfire Night

Fresh off the mill! I took these images tonight! Fireworks make interesting subjects to photograph, the results are often unexpected and unique. I like the movement, colour and shapes in the images and the abstract look. Hope you all had a happy and safe Bonfire Night!

Acorns

Its that time of year when seeds are abundant. Kids are after the conkers! I was always fond of acorns in my younger days. I loved their shape and colour and the little cup they sat in! Here are some fresh ‘baby’ acorns which have yet to turn golden brown.
