Light art

Light art

I thought id post something a little different today. I have been experimenting with light and camera movement to see what effects I can get. Here is one I took the other night; it’s actually a well-lit building on the local runway. I took the shot at night and guided the camera around on a long exposure. Nothing groundbreaking but interesting results all the same!

Seagulls at Conwy Castle

seagulls-at-conwy-castle.jpg

Taken last year at Conwy Castle, these two seagulls caught my eye. I wanted to use space as a big element to the shot, with the deep blue sky presenting the perfect opportunity. It is the space more than anything that makes the shot work and the fact that both seagulls are looking in the same direction.

Captured Water

Captured Water

Taken at Ingleton, I manage to capture the water as it bounced back off a boulder sticking out of the surface to give this beautiful caption of water movement.

Water Power

water-power.jpg

Again taken at Ingleton, North Yorkshire. The water was rushing past furiously and I wanted an image that portrayed its speed and motion. The contrast helps from the light water to the dark rocks behind. I think there’s a real sense of movement within the image.

Fast flowing water

fast-flowing-water.jpg

The last post of images taken on my Ingleton walk. Here, the water pours over the edge of the rocks beneath, which show through the water. The water has been coloured naturally by its journey through the hills.

Water Ripples

Water Ripples

I took this image in Wales. The water was trickling down over the top of the moss and gently falling into a pool, sending these beautiful, perfect circles out from the centre across the surface.

Waterfall at Ingleton

Waterfall at Ingleton

I have decided to display the images in a larger format than previously, I feel it portrays the images better and gives the photograph more impact to the viewer.

I had another visit to Ingleton Falls last week and managed to get some nice shots, despite the weather. This image captures the water cascading over rocks. I have taken some more abstract shots of the water, which I will be posting over the coming days.

Feeding birds

Feeding birds.jpg

Whilst passing over a bridge I came across a family feeding bread to the big gathering of birds below! Seagulls, Mallards and Coots all tustled for the bread in a free for all scrap!

Golf course

Golf-Course.jpg

Hope everyone had a great New Year! Welcome to 2007!

Now that Christmas has come and gone, life goes back to normal! And so on we go… this golf course was sprinkled with sunlight creating a lovely shot. The blue sky and wispy white clouds also add to the image. The top of Blackpool Tower can just been seen on the horizion to the far right of the image.
